Deal of the Week: Men's Gore Power Knickers

The Men's Gore Power 2.0 3/4 tight is the perfect addition for this time of year where it's still too chilly for shorts but too warm for full-length tights. They have Gore's Power seat insert chamois, gripper elastics at the hem of each leg to combat slippage, a little bit of reflectivity for visibility as the days get longer, and a zip pocket at the back for an extra stash spot for the valuables.

Throw them on with a knee-high sock for extra warmth or go without on those warmer days. They're recommended for medium to long rides and in a place like Vancouver where the weather is fairly favourable year round, this piece is a bonus for any cyclist's wardrobe.

Regular $129.99, now half price at $65. Pretty sweet deal! Come in and check 'em out!

Red Flag Design

So, we've had them for a little bit, but wanted to do a fun write-up with our newly acquired friends, Red Flag Design.

Barnaby Killam and Stuart Sproule founded the company in 2004. Their first bags were created out of old sailcloth material that were otherwise destined for the dump. Thus were born their first totes and travel bags.

Since then, they've expanded their line to include lock holsters, musettes, and duffle bags made of canvas from reclaimed army tents.

Even though not all of their pieces are geared towards cycling, the product line still falls in the cyclist's lifestyle and would be a welcome addition to anyone's closet.

I've been told that the musette holds all the essentials - wallet, keys, snacks, even a bottle of wine will go in! Sounds perfect for that after-work ride down to the beach to watch the sunset with friends.

Their commitment to the use of repurposed materials is an important aspect of the company as well as a very choice move in a time where sustainability and "going-green" are a hot-button issue. Hinting that soft goods is only the beginning, we're excited to see where Red Flag is going and we're glad to be a part of their journey.
